Two Ways to Vote On or Before Nov. 6, 2007

MAIL BALLOT ELECTION 2007

BY MAIL: If you voted in the 2006 county-wide election, you will receive a packet of election materials from the Teller County Election Dept. 15 to 25 days before election day. If you didn't vote last time but you did register to vote or update your voter registration data (with an address change, for instance), you will also receive the ballot packet in the mail. The packet will include the ballot, a secrecy sleeve and return envelope. To vote by mail, complete the ballot, place it in the secrecy sleeve, sign and date the return envelope, and mail the packet back to the Teller County Clerk & Recorder's office. You will need to put a 41-cent stamp on the return envelope. The ballot must be received by the Clerk & Recorder's office no later than 7 p.m. on election night in order to be counted. A postmark on Election Day does not count unless the ballot is physically in the hands of the office of the Clerk & Recorder by 7:00 p.m.

Alternatively, ballots can be brought to the Motor Vehicle Branch office in Woodland Park, located at 540 Manor Court, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The ballots will be picked up from the branch office later than 5 p.m. Election Day, Tuesday November 6th.

WALK-IN VOTING: Mail ballots and a touch-screen voting machine will be available for walk-in voters who do not receive a ballot, starting October 12th, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and ending at 7 p.m. on Election Day, November 6th at the Teller County Courthouse. To cast a walk-in vote, go to the Clerk & Recorder's office, 101 W. Bennett Ave, Cripple Creek, Colorado. You may also contact the Clerk & Recorder's office at 686-8032 for additional ballot information.

There are no vote centers in a mail ballot election other than then on-site polling place in the Clerk & Recorder's Office in Cripple Creek.

You may view the official rules at the Clerk & Recorder's Office website at www.co.teller.co.us/Clerk%20and%20Recorder/voter.htm
